 What is DNS zone?

For all purposes, DNS (domain name system) is considered as internet’s contact book. This is how it’s metaphors. Domain’s DNS zone is like contact list in your mobile phone.   • TXT (text) Record – Text record is used to prove ownership of a domain name. This record is required for variety of reasons to prove third-party such as google analytics that you own particular domain. You create TXT entry, then third-party search engines verifies your DNS zone to prove ownership.
  • NS (nameserver) Record – NS records indicates which DNS server is authentic for that domain. NS records tells internet that where are the domain’s IP address.
  • SPF (sender policy framework) Record – Sender policy framework helps to prevent in email spoofing. These are essentially just another type of TXT entry.
