Data center automation enables to execute critical workflows and processes on servers without human intervention. It is a process driven approach that helps data centers to make data more efficient, repetitive and prone manual tasks to replace.
Data centers includes: -
- Data centers automation includes different processes such as – backups, replication, downloads/ uploads, application events and other items that were previously done by humans.
- Monitoring data center components and automatically alerting responders when any problem occurs.
- Maintaining function such as – patching and updating equipment’s.
- Service provisioning and configuration of standard infrastructure resources for development, testing and deployment of new applications that includes new physical, virtual and cloud servers.
Data Center
Orchestration: -
Data center orchestration is a software
that uses automation of tasks to implement different processes. Such as
deploying of new servers. Automation solutions that orchestrate data center
operations enables an agile DevOps approach for constant improvement to
applications. Let us consider instruments and singers in band. Each
independently sounds, just like software defines applications with their own
task. When they all work together, a unique sound is produced. Data center
orchestration comes together for larger purpose. It organizes all tasks of
various services and creates highly functioned responsive data center. Large
amount of data has put more pressure on data center. Data center requires
central management platform and be able to provide same agility as public
clouds.
Data Center
Working: -
To know about data center working. Let us
take an example. Let’s say you have 6 computers. On these computers you want to
install Ubuntu OS and as well as other programs for processing and editing. You
can install these programs manually but this will consume lot of time. To
automate this task, you will network computer together and then you will use
single computer to install programs simultaneously. Automation software
requires instructor files known as playbooks. To carry out tasks according to
specifications laid by author of playbook. These playbooks include instructions
to perform wide variety of server operations. Using IPMI technology, data center
automation can even use to install operating system on dedicated servers.
Data Center
Classifications: -
Tier 1 – Tier 1 is more than a powered
warehouse. They don’t require high sophistication. It supports dedicated site
infrastructure to support information technology. It also includes dedicated
space for IT systems. Dedicated cooling equipment that won’t get down at the
end of normal working hours.
Tier 2 – Tier 2 is a colocation data
centers that are more robust to tier 1 centers. Tier 2 do not complicated
performance hardware. It includes complete tier 1 capabilities and add
redundant critical power for cooling components to provide selective
maintenance and increase margin safety against IT process disruptions.
Tier 3 – Tier 3 can perform repairs
without notable service disruptions. Another way to define tier 3 provider is
that offering N+1 (amount required for operation plus a backup) availability
for clients. In short, tier 3 is tolerant for some faults.
Tier 4 – Tier 4 is considered as fault
tolerant. Unplanned maintenance does not stop the flow of data to data center. It
is a single power and cooling infrastructure component fails. It continues the
process without any interruption. IT processing can only be affected if
components have two different electrical and cooling paths.
Conclusion: -
Data center automation consumes very less
time. There are different approaches which can be done using automation
methods. Hosting companies prefer to use automation in their data centers. This
helps to reduce more human efforts and creates more flexibility in data center
processing. Web hosting companies like – HTS Hosting, best
cloud hosting company providing Windows Dedicated
Server Hosting, Linux
dedicated server and other hosting plans. HTS Hosting data centers
are designed to adopt and work in automation to provide finest service to their
clients.
